Hi, i'm Kellie, here's a little bit about who we are and how K9 Kitchen began ...
I always make my son (Toby) a special cake for his birthday. Then one day Toby asked “can Ruby (our whippet) have a cake for her birthday too?” not wanting to disappoint I began researching Toby’s request. To my surprise a majority of the cakes and recipes on the market either contained ingredients which can be dangerous to dogs or Ruby (the fussy eater) turned her nose up at them. So my own recipe testing and tasting began. I replaced the dangerous and dull ingredients with safe, healthy ones and voila, the roots of K9 Kitchen were born!
I continued to experiment with ingredients and over the last 12 to 18 months have created a vast menu of culinary doggy delights. Researching along the way which foods are dangerous to dogs and avoided in our recipes and the benefits provided by some of our key ingredients. Today we continue to create and test new recipes behind the scenes and once they receive K9 Kitchen’s seal of approval they appear on our website.
